Lego Birthday

My nephew is officially five years old.  What?!  My sister and brother-in-law had a party this weekend for him with a lego theme.  Super cute.

Here's some pics from the day:

How cute is this utensil holder?

Mmmm, cake.
You could tell which kids were dropped off and left by their parents.
They were the ones shoveling as much cake as possible as quickly as possible.

The brother-in-law made the pinata.
I know, it was awesome.

Here's The Kid takin' a crack at it.

Once all the kids got a turn, it was time to bust that bad boy open.

A swing and a miss.

After my cousin messed with him, BIL took the blindfold off and whacked the heck out of it.
And then it was like a swarm of crackheads after all that candy.

They also did a pin the head on the lego guy game.

Birthday boy.

The Girl.

The Kid.

Of course, all the kids had fun.
And the party confirmed the fact that my poor children will never have parties that involve more than family members.
That many kids all together running around like psychos is too much for this old mom.
It did, however, make me appreciate my own kids after witnessing several little brats, who shall remain nameless.  :)

  3. Hahahaha!!! I can't stand it when the brat kids (there always are at least a few) show up at a party. Totally stinks it up! What an amazing party though!!! I think my fav part was all the color blocked food. So cool!

    1. Hi Nicole. My brother-in-law actually made the pinata. He's crazy like that. :o) I think he just used cardboard to make the form and went from there.

    1. Hi Noemie! You didn't have an email address attached to your profile, so hopefully you see this.
My sister colored the frosting with regular grocery store food coloring. She said it took A LOT to get it so vibrant and to match the M & M's. Hope that helps!

  9. Found this site through Pinterest. Is that a purple cabbage holding the dip? I love how they served healthy food at a child's birthday party- you rarely see that...

    1. Hi there! Yes, that is a purple cabbage. My sister hollowed it out for the veggie dip. Cute, huh?

We're definitely an eatin' family. The kids eat what we eat - or they go hungry. Ha! I know what you mean, though, about the garbage food served at birthday parties these days. It's no wonder most kids refuse to eat anything healthy. No one is putting it in front of them.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking the time to comment!

  10. I would LOVE to know how the Pinata was made!!

    1. Hi, my brother-in-law made the pinata by cutting up a large cardboard box and bending it and manipulating it to get the shape he wanted. He said it took a lot of tape. The yellow is crepe paper with slits cut into that he wrapped around the outside of the cardboard frame. Hope that helps!

    1. Hi Jose. I'm so sorry, I'm just now seeing your question.
It's just buttercream frosting on top. My sister made them and she said it took A LOT of food coloring to get the color to match the M&M's. Hope that helps!

    ReplyDelete

    1. Hi, Zoe. The cake is just a regular chocolate cake, baked in a 9 x 13 pan. Food coloring for the frosting and M&M's on top.
